Fulham v Leeds Betting Tips [28 February 2023]

We’re down to the final 16 in the English FA Cup as Fulham host Leeds for this fifth round matchup at Craven Cottage. Their opponents Leeds picked up a massive three points on the weekend with a 1-0 home win over struggling Southampton. It was a dream start for the recently appointed manager Javi Gracia who has picked up a win in his first competitive match with his new club. It was certainly a scrappy match with chances at a premium for both sides. Left-back Junior Firpo was the hero on the day as he secured his team a potentially vital three points with his 77th minute goal. The win lifts Leeds out of the relegation zone to 17th-place with a record of five wins, seven draws and 12 defeats putting them on 22 points – just one point above 18th-place Everton. While Leeds’ attention may be on ensuring their Premier League survival, a deep cup run could go a long way to bolstering the morale of the squad. Leeds advanced to this stage following their 3-1 away victory over Accrington Stanley in the previous round.

This is a good opportunity for Fulham to bounce back after somewhat of a disappointing result on the weekend in front of their home fans. The Cottagers have been excellent at home this season and have shown the ability to consistently create scoring chances. In their last three home matches, Fulham have created a total of nine clear cut scoring opportunities. Leeds were surely encouraged by the support they received at Elland Road in manager Javi Gracia’s first match with the club. However, we could be looking at a potential ‘let-down’ spot as they now have to go on the road against a team that will be itching to return to winning ways.
