Barcelona and Juventus will square off at Nou Camp in the final group match of Group ‘G’ in the UEFA Champions League to determine who qualifies top of the group for the knockouts. Barcelona are top of the standings with 15 points after five matches and a perfect record. Juventus are second in the group with 12 points after winning four and losing to Barcelona in the reverse fixture.
Barcelona can confirm their top spot even with a draw. Even in the case of a loss, unless Juventus defeat Barcelona by three goals or more or by any two-goal margin other than 2-0, the Spanish powerhouses are set to win the group.
Barcelona come into this match on the back of a disastrous 2-1 loss to Cadiz in La Liga that puts them just three points over the relegation zone. Ronald Koeman’s side has been struggling to get into a rhythm as their three-match competitive winning run has been broken by this loss. Barcelona have won five of their last seven in all competitions and have kept three clean sheets. Despite their poor league form, Barcelona have been exceptional in the Champions League winning their five matches, three with a clean sheet including the reverse fixture. Additionally, they have scored at least two goals in each of those wins and have looked a different side in the competition away from all those difficulties in La Liga.
Juventus came back from a goal down to defeat Torino 2-1 with both goals coming beyond the 75th minute. That extended their unbeaten competitive run to eight matches, winning six and drawing two. Interestingly, six of those have seen goals at both ends which could be the way to go here. Barring the 2-0 loss to Barcelona, Juventus have been in impressive form in the competition winning five of their last six including three in a row. Away form is equally crucial, as Juventus have won four of their last five Champions League away matches scoring at least two goals each time.
