AC Milan v Lille Betting Tips [5 November 2020]

Serie A high-flyers AC Milan will look to continue their good form when they host fellow unbeaten starters in Group ‘H’ of the Europa League at San Siro this midweek. Milan are top of the group standings with six points from two matches, while are behind them in second with four points from their two matches so far.

Milan defeated Udinese 2-1 in their Serie A match over the weekend continuing their excellent start to the season. The San Siro powerhouses are yet to lose a competitive match this season with their last loss in any competition coming way back in March before lockdown. They are top of the Serie A standings in addition to being top of their Europa group with the 39-year-old talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the charge. They won 3-1 against Celtic and 3-0 against Sparta Praha in the Europa League and have now won five matches in a row in the competition. At home, Milan have won six of their last eight in the competition including the last three.

Lille have been impressive starters themselves this season, staying second behind PSG in Ligue 1. However, they come into this match on the back of three successive competitive draws. That said, the French side is unbeaten in 11 matches this season in all competitions, winning six and drawing five. Even in the Europa League, they started with a 4-1 win over Sparta Praha and then followed up with a 2-2 draw against Celtic. Interestingly, the win at Sparta remains Lille’s only win in the competition in 12 matches since 2011. Indeed, that win is Lille’s only win away from home in the Europa League for 14 matches on the road.

AC Milan have an excellent pedigree against French sides, having lost only of their 15 home matches against French clubs in all UEFA competitions winning ten and drawing four. However, that loss came against none other than Lille! However, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Brahim Diaz in such fine form, Milan are going to be hard to beat in this match. We are backing Milan to continue their good form and win this match. As for individual picks, Brahim Diaz has scored in each of his last two Europa games for Milan and could become the first club player since 2011-12 to score in three successive games. A medium wager on Diaz doing so wouldn’t go amiss.
