Review of Betfred website

We found that the Betfred site was easy to access, user-friendly, intuitive and generally made navigating around, placing bets and realising offers extremely easy.

You can find all the Promotions available on the site under one simple promotions tab. And that is not just all the Betfred Sport promotions. Other tabs will take you to other promotions available on other Betfred sites, such as Bingo, Poker, Casino, Games and Live Casino.

You can use the scrollable bars to access the different sports betting options on the site, although some may prefer to click the A-Z button at the foot of the page. You can also navigate through the different options for each sport, such as the different race meetings for horse racing and greyhound fans, the different football tournaments and competitions for soccer lovers. It is simply a case of digging down through the layers to reach the markets and bets that you want to make.

Popular bets not only include backing the winner of a competition, but perhaps backing a team to reach the final, or finish in second, third or fourth position. However, the list of possible outright markets is only determined by the sport and competition in question.

Odds offered at Betfred

The real long-term value from a bookmaker comes in terms of its odds and we are delighted to report that Betfred scores highly with us on this. The better the odds for customers, the greater your rewards will be when you win a bet.

We decided to compare the markets available for the 2025 Ryder Cup, a major sporting event, across a trio of popular bookmakers to see how Betfred compares.

As the screenshots show, backing the home-team favourites, Team USA is the same value with all bookmakers (4/6 or 1.66). However, if you were to back Team Europe to win the match, then Betfred offers slightly better odds of 15/8, compared to the 7/4 offered by the other two bookmakers.

The flip side sees Betfred offer slightly less value on the draw (11/1 compared to 12/1), but the draw is very much the outside bet of the three options and has occurred relatively infrequently in the tournament’s history.

You can find a similar story when you compare markets across most sports, but in particular for football and horse racing, where Betfred tends to offer excellent value for its customers in terms of odds, and also in terms of odds boosting or insurance-based promotions too.

Esports Betting at Betfred

The site only offers a minimal offering when it comes to esports betting. In fact, upon reviewing the site, we found only one esports betting option: League of Legends.

Given the growing popularity of esports, this is a significant omission compared to many of Betfred’s rivals and means that if you are looking for a site that offers a considerable esports offering alongside more standard sports betting options, we cannot really recommend Betfred in this regard.

Live Betting at Betfred : how is in-play betting at Betfred?

This service is easily accessible on the website and app with a dedicated button taking you directly to the action happening right now, complete with all the different markets available for that fixture that you may wish to bet on.

Loading times are good, with very little evidence of lagging and shorter downtimes in between odds updates compared to some of their rivals. A factor we found very useful for those that like to bet in-play frequently.

We like the fact that the different live streaming icons have their own number, indicating how many live events are in-play at any one time. This makes finding those events easy. And the Watch Live option also makes accessing Live Streams simple too.

Overall, we feel Betfred offers customers an extensive and good value live betting service.

Features and services available at Betfred

Betfred doesn’t stint when it comes to offering a range of useful features for its customers to access when betting. These are available both in-play and pre-match, although their availability may depend on several factors related to the type of bet and when it was placed.

Live Streaming

Betfred offers a live streaming service, the majority of which covers many different sports and is available to any customer who has a funded account (with a balance of £0.01 or greater).

The only exceptions to this are horse racing races and certain greyhound races. Live streams of these races are only available to customers who have placed a bet worth £1 or greater in total on that particular race.

Betfred’s live streaming service works hand in hand with its In-Play betting service to give its users an easy way to follow and bet on all the action live.

Cash Out

Betfred also offers customers the chance to cash out a bet that qualifies for a cash-out option. This is often a multiple selection bet, such as an accumulator, a cover bet or a bet builder bet that contains multiple elements.

Not all bets qualify for a cash out. However, those that do are clearly earmarked on site for ease of access.

Bet Builder

Use the Bet Builder service to combine multiple markets across a fixture and to create your own accumulator or other multiple selection bets. All sports and markets eligible for Bet Builder bets are demarcated on the page in their own section for each fixture.

Betfred’s full range of gaming options

As we have mentioned earlier in this review, membership of Betfred does not mean you solely have access to its sports betting service. Your account also gains you access to the full range of other Betfred services.

You can head over to Games, Vegas and Casino, to try your hand at the latest selection of slot games, casino games or brand new gameshow-styled games, many of which are hosted and which allows an exciting level of interactivity. Live Chat: for more expedient responses, contact the semi-automated Betfred Live Chat service for an immediate response.

One small niggle for us here is a lack of phone numbers for customers to call, although this option is slowly being eradicated from many online bookmakers and games providers and Betfred are by no means the only service providers not to offer this option.

A positive, however, is that Betfred has an excellent service available across social networks and while not ‘official’ help services, you can often contact somebody on the team there.
