How are our CAF Confederation Cup predictions made?

CAF Confederation Cup prediction

At Wincomparator, we've been predicting the CAF Confederation Cup since 2008. Now, in 2026, we're bringing you our intelligent predictions, the result of years of research. Our special algorithm enables us to make reliable CAF Confederation Cup predictions.

  • Our predictions are based on thousands of pieces of data
  • AI helps us to process the data
  • The odds on the CAF Confederation Cup are taken into account in the calculation
  • Our experts validate all the CAF Confederation Cup predictions generated by our tool

We are currently able to calculate the most likely result to be expected from a CAF Confederation Cup match.

Winner prediction: who do we expect to win the CAF Confederation Cup?

USM Alger lifted the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Egyptian side Zamalek. It marked the second time the Algerian club had won the competition, both of which have come in the last four seasons alone. USM Alger will have the opportunity to defend their crown this year but we are focusing our attention on a different club to lift the trophy.

Al Ahly, unquestionably Africa's most successful club, will be competing in the Confederation Cup for the first time in over a decade. This is mainly because the Red Devils have been extraordinarily successful over the years and are regular competitors in the CAF Champions League, which they have won a record 12 times. However, an uncharacteristically down season last year means that they'll be competiting in this tournament, of which they'll be expected to win.

Even with their struggles last season, Al Ahly boast one of Africa's best squads. Their opponents therefore should find it tough to keep up with them, and we're backing the Egyptian giants to add yet another continental cup to their collection.

Our 2026-27 CAF Confederation Cup prediction: Al Ahly champions!

The impact of CAF Confederation Cup statistics on your predictions

There's one very important thing to know about your predictions: statistics are a vital element in the success of a sports bet. Depending on the club, the player, the competition, the fixture, the fixture list... The stats are very different, but they all have one thing in common: they have an impact on which bets to favour.

In an Al Ahly or Kaizer Chiefs match, for example, two teams with very strong attacking potential, it is highly likely that a bet of the '+2.5 goals' type will be validated. On the other hand, in a match that looks close on paper, such as USM Alger vs Raja Casablanca or AS FAR vs CR Belouizdad, this type of bet could be avoided if the teams' stats don't support it.

Important stats and figures should therefore always be analysed before making a bet on the CAF Confederation Cup. Remember that they are available in our table above.

CAF Confederation Cup odds: how to use them to bet with bookmakers?

But it's not just the statistics you need to take into account: the odds offered by the bookmakers are also a determining factor for your bets. These simply reflect the different probabilities of an outcome, and are of course taken into account in our algorithm.

In order to make a reliable Confederation Cup prediction, you need to ask yourself this question: are the odds attractive enough? You simply have to ask yourself whether the winnings on offer in the event of a successful bet are worth making a bet with a bookmaker.

  • For example, you are predicting a tough win for USM Alger against Kaizer Chiefs in Algeria but the bookmakers offering odds of 1.50 for this bet. It would be wiser to avoid placing a bet.
Using the formula (1/quote) x 100, we calculate that the bookmakers estimate the probability of a USM Alger win at 66.7%, which is still a fairly high percentage.
If you think the odds are too high, the best thing to do is not to bet. Why risk your money if you're only going to win €5 (for an initial stake of €10)?
  • Now let's imagine the opposite case. You imagine a big win for Al Ahly at home against CS Sfaxien.
The bookmakers are offering odds of 1.80 for the Egyptian side to win, for an implied probability of 55.6%.
In this scenario, the odds look appealing. Why is this the case? It could be that the books are underestimating the Red Devils' chances, in which case the promised winnings are high in relation to the risk taken!
  • The odds offered by online operators on the CAF Confederation Cup are therefore very important and should always be taken into account when making your bets on Europe's finest cup. They will certainly help you make the right choice of bet on CAF Confederation Cup matches.

Guidelines for reliable CAF Confederation Cup predictions

CAF Champions League predictions

The CAF Confederation Cup predictions on our site are the result of dozens of parameters. Don't hesitate to trust them if you want to maximise your chances of increasing your bankroll.

In addition to all this, we strongly advise you to carry out an analysis beforehand and for each of your bets. Below are some of the tips that seem most obvious to us.

1. Find out about the club's situation

Knowing the situation of a team you want to bet on is very important. It's an all-too-often-repeated mistake to bet simply on the name and prestige of a team in the CAF Confederation Cup.

You clearly need to ask yourself the right questions. Is the club you want to bet on in better shape than its opponents? Is there a history between the two teams that could make for a very tense match? What season is the club currently offering? Has the team already qualified for the next round? Do they have a busy fixture list?

By studying these questions, you can minimise the risk of losing bets. That's what we do at Wincomparator, whether it's for the Confederation Cup or any other football league.

2. Place simple bets

At Wincomparator, we offer you a total of three types of football predictions: 1X2 (match result), BTTS (both teams to score), and Over/Under (also known as Over/Under goals). Not for nothing: these are the bets we believe have the best chance of success.

For this edition, our second piece of advice is to go for simple predictions. You can also indulge yourself and try bigger odds with combinations or other bets, but this should not be your main prediction habit.

Goalscorer bets, for example, are very tempting, but the odds offered by bookmakers seem to be dropping slightly recently. This is also the case for other, more complicated types of bet, such as half-time/full-time, goals in a given period, etc.

If you don't want to reduce your chances of winning Confederation Cup bets and increase your bankroll in the long term, it would be better to concentrate on classic bets.

3. Adjust your CAF Confederation Cup bets according to the strength of the squad

The final piece of advice you need to take into account for your CAF Confederation Cup bets is to look at the numbers of players available to the coaches. Seasons are getting longer and longer, and players are no longer able to keep up.

Between the league, national cups, African cups, national team matches... Quite often, there are injured or suspended players at almost every match. And that has its importance.

A team like Al Ahly may have a large squad, but it is still less effective without the likes of Trezeguet, Zizo and Emam Ashour. Even if they have the resources to replace those players.

This is even truer for teams with weaker squads, such as Nairobi United and Djoliba AC, where a major absence will have a greater impact.

This will obviously have an effect on the result of the match, and potentially on your bet. Pay close attention to the strength of the coaches before each bet.

Our opinion on the difficulty of CAF Confederation Cup betting

Every year, the CAF Confederation Cup remains a fairly complicated competition to predict. The big names are always there, of course, but surprises are not uncommon and the winner is almost never the same.

It's a tournament that every club and player dreams of playing, and every team gives their all in every CAF Confederation Cup match. Of course, that's not always enough to create an upset, but it's a fact to be reckoned with.
