Zenith welcome Juventus in a Group H match in the Champions League at the Krestovsky Stadium. The hosts are placed third in the group with three points from the first two group fixtures while the visitors are at the top of the group with six points on board from their two games so far. Zenit come into the fixture after hitting a bit of a slump with two consecutive losses. They have lost with 2-1 score lines to Sochi and Arsenal Tula in the Russian Premier League. Zenit bounced back to win 4-0 against Malmo in their last Champions League game after a 1-0 defeat at Chelsea. They have struggled defensively in the current season and have managed to keep just a single clean sheet in their last seven matches, which as a result has led to over 2.5 goals in each of their last five matches. Sergei Semak’s men will be aiming to advance to the knockouts from the group and three points against Juventus will set the base for the same.
Juventus have started to ease into defensive dominance in Serie A. They come into the game with three clean sheets in a row after a rather inconsistent run in the initial part of the new season. Juventus are currently placed seventh in their domestic league and come into the game a 1-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri’s side raced to a 3-0 win over Malmo before a dominant 1-0 win over Chelsea at home in the Champions League. Juventus have scored at least a single goal in each of their last eight matches and have had over 2.5 goals in four out of their last eight matches, courtesy of a shaky defensive display before the current defensive solidarity at the back.
While Juventus are on a better run of form compared to Zenit, both the teams have been amongst the goals in their recent games. The two teams like to play an attacking brand of football and are expected to go all out for the three points as there is a decent chance that the two teams will advance to the next round if certain results go their way. We are going for over 2.5 goals in this fixture.
