Wolves v Norwich Betting Tips [15 May 2022]

Wovlerhampton host Norwich for matchday 37 of the English Premier League with both teams trying to snap out winless runs as the 2021/22 campaign winds to a close. After a strong first half to the season where it looked like Wolves might challenge for Europe, a stretch of only one win in their last seven matches has closed the door on that possibility. Bruno Lange’s team now sit in eighth place with 50 points and trail the top six by eight points with only two matches remaining. Their opponents have known their fate for a while as Norwich sit rock-bottom of the Premier League table with only 21 points. Manager Dean Smith and his side appear to be simply going through the motions as they most likely can’t wait for the season to finish. Norwich have been dire this season and are on a current five match losing run while failing to even find the net once in their last four. 

For all of Wolves' struggles in recent matches, they still possess one of the league’s staunchest defenses. Their 39 goals conceded is the fourth fewest in the Premier League and a visit from Norwich should provide the perfect remedy to end their current seven game streak without keeping a clean sheet. Norwich have a legitimate case for having one of the worst Premier League campaigns in history as only five teams have finished with a points total of fewer than 21 points, while their -56 goal differential is already one of the top three worst records. Things are unlikely to turn around for the Canaries in these final two matches especially with their away record of only two wins while conceding 40 and scoring only 10. Anything other than a comfortable home victory would come as a surprise here and Wolves should be able to end their winless run with a multi-goal margin of victory.

We’re going to back Wolverhampton to win to nil as our bet for this match. This is an excellent price when considering Norwich’s current scoring drought and Wolves normally stout defense. Another option would be Wolves on the -1 Asian Handicap at slightly worse odds if you’re not as confident in the home clean sheet but we expect a 1-0 or 2-0 type of victory for the hosts in this one.
