Bayern Munich will have their final game of the season away to Wolfsburg, and will be hoping to wrap up with a win. The visitors are top of the league standings with 76 points while Wolfsburg have 41 points in 13th place. Wolfsburg started their league campaign very strongly but that fizzled out and going into the final round of matches, they can’t finish above 10th. They’ve picked up a bit of good form in the recent matches though, with three wins in five but they have just four clan sheets in the last 10 matches. A scoring run that has seen them find the back of the net in each of the last five matches should give them hope when facing a Bayern side that isn’t known to keep a lot of clean sheets. In three of their last five home matches, Wolfsburg have registered wins and they have three clean sheets too in those wins.
Bayern have already bagged the league title and they have nothing to lose here. It has been the case in the last two matches; they are winless in those games, a 3-1 loss to Mainz and a 2-2 draw with Stuttgart in their final home match. Ahead of this encounter, Bayern have eight straight wins against Wolfsburg and haven’t lost to them in 15 straight games. Bayern have however been lackluster since beating Borussia Dortmund to win the Bundesliga title. They’ve conceded five goals in the last two matches and have just one clean sheet in the last five matches. Each of their last four matches has produced over 2.5 goals and both teams have scored in four of their last five games. The champions have lost just twice in the last 10 away league matches and have scored in each of the last 50 away matches in the league.
Bayern Munich haven’t had much incentive to keep winning after bagging the Bundesliga title. It will be the same case here, as they have nothing much to play for, though by their run against Wolfsburg we don’t see them losing here. One stat we expect will come up here is both sides scoring, going by the two sides’ recent performances.
