West Ham are looking good for a place in Europe next season. They begin this game in seventh and that would take them into the Europa Conference League. The Hammers are only three points behind sixth placed Manchester United and with a game in hand and better goal difference. Making up that gap won’t be easy though with this game against City and then a trip to in-form Brighton. hA point from their last two league games will see them see off the challenge of eighth placed Wolves. The Hammers are five points clear of Wolves who finish with a trip to Liverpool. West Ham have won nine home league games this season but are without a victory in their last two with the last match being a loss to Arsenal. Only one of their last 15 matches against Manchester City has been won. That was a penalty shoot-out in the EFL Cup after a goalless draw. Before that, their last win was in 2015.
City began this season with a league defeat at Tottenham. The next 16 on the road have seen them win 13 and draw three. They have kept five away league clean sheets in the last six played. With Liverpool on FA Cup final duty this weekend, a win at West Ham will take City six points clear of Liverpool and with a better goal difference with their rivals only having two games left. They have scored 22 goals in their last five league games and nine in the last two on the road. After the dramatic loss in the Champions League, they will be determined to win the Premier League and can even afford to draw one of their final three games. They can go three points closer to the title with an away win.
