A heart-breaking 2-1 loss to rivals Crystal Palace on Monday night brought to an end a six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League for Brighton. Graham Potter’s side dominated proceedings but were caught on the counter in the dying seconds as they hunted a winner themselves. Brighton remain 16th in the table on 26 points just four points above the relegation zone while West Brom are submerged in the bottom three and look unlikely to escape. An 11-point gap to safety seems like too much for even Big Sam Allardyce to bridge as his side are still 19th in the table.
West Brom come into this game after back-to-back draws with Manchester United (1-1) and Burnley (0-0). The Baggies missed a number of opportunities in their draw last weekend at Burnley and that could well have been their last chance to salvage their season. West Brom have accumulated a joint-low tally of seven points from home games this season with just one win from their 12 matches at The Hawthorns. That win came against Sheffield United back in November but the club have won just one of their 15 games since and lost five of their last seven at home, although they have drawn each of their last two games at home with Fulham and United.
