Viktoria Plzen should be able to get a good lead to take to Dinamo Brest. The two sides meet in the second qualifying round of the new Europa Conference League with the winners facing either The New Saints or Kauno Zalgiris. This is the first competitive game of the new season for Plzen with the Czech league yet to start. Pre-season friendlies have gone well though with four wins and a draw, so they should be well tuned up for this match. They are hard to beat at home with only one loss in their last 13 league and cup games. Plzen have had some success in Europe and reached the group stages of the 2018/19 Champions League. Last season saw them lose at this stage of the Champions League and then lose to Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Europa League play-off round. Plzen are unbeaten in their last five home European games.
Dinamo Brest are sixth in the Belarus League. You know the one, we were obsessed with it during the first lockdowns when major leagues were suspended. Now we don't seem to care so much. Over 90 minutes, Brest had gone seven games without a win before beating bottom of the table Sputnik at home. Away form has seen them get just a penalty shoot-out win in their last six matches. Their best run in European football has been getting to the third qualifying round of the Champions League last season. They've never won an away game and that record looks like continuing here. Back Plzen to win and be ahead at both half and full time.
