Udinese are perilously close to the relegation zone in Serie A and are looking to get back to winning ways when Atalanta come visiting the Stadio Friuli. Udinese are 15th in the standings with 16 points from 17 matches and are now just three points above the relegation zone. Atalanta ended Sunday round of fixtures at sixth position with 32 points from 17 matches.

Udinese lost 2-1 at Sampdoria to make it two losses in a row and extended their winless run. They are now without a win in seven matches, drawing three and losing four. Five of these seven matches saw goals at both ends which means another such instance could be waiting for us. That said, Udinese have struggled to score goals and have just 19 goals this season which is the fourth-lowest tally. Even at home, Udinese have struggled for momentum and have now lost their last two league matches in a row. Crucially, they have failed to score in four of eight Serie A home games, while scoring just one goal.

Atalanta are coming off a goalless draw against Genoa in their last match, only the third Serie A game in which they failed to score. Although that result helped Atalanta extend their unbeaten league run to eight matches, three of those have been draws. That said, Atalanta still have the joint-second highest scoring record of the league with 40 goals. They have been frugal at the other end as well with just 22 goals conceded which is the fifth-best defensive record of the season. Concern for Atalanta will be their away form that has been a bit disappointing. They have lost only once in their last six Serie A away matches, but have won only twice whilst drawing three matches.
