Turkey had a bad outing on the opening day of Euro 2020 and they will hope to recover when they take on Wales in their second match of the competition. Kieffer Moore scored the equalizer which had all the writings of a sucker punch after Switzerland’s misses and the striker who has had a good season will hope to also have a great tournament. He will be looking to inspire the team, which has no win in the last three matches, but only one loss in five. Wales aren’t known to be great in attack, and their recent matches have shown. In their last three matches, they’ve failed to score in two and in the last five they haven’t scored more than a goal. In three of their last five matches, they have clean sheets and four of their last five have produced under 2.5 goals. In only one of their last 14 matches have they managed to score more than a goal in a game – the 3-1 win over Finland in the Nations League. They have scored in nine of their last 14 matches.

These two sides are in a precarious position after their opening results. They both need to win, but at the same time can’t sacrifice the defence. The team to score first here will have an advantage, as reverting to defence will be key, with the final group games very tricky. Turkey have goals in the team; they’ve been doing well on the attacking front, though a bit wanting defensively. They can’t afford to leave their rearguard exposed against this Wales side, given the immense talent the Welsh possess. With the focus on attack expected here, go for both teams to score.
