Tottenham should have won last weekend but conceded a late equalizer at Newcastle United. They start this set of games in sixth and host second placed Manchester United. Tottenham are three points behind fourth placed but that gap will double if West Ham can beat Leicester earlier on Sunday. A point for Liverpool against Villa would see Tottenham slip to seventh. On the plus side though, a win for Tottenham, defeat for West Ham and Chelsea not beating Crystal Palace would see them go into the top four, it's that tight for the final Champions League spot. Tottenham have just one loss in their last six league games but have lost six of the last 12. A win in this game would be their fourth straight home victory. However, the last three have come against West Brom, Burnley and Crystal Palace, not quite Manchester United. Leicester, Liverpool and Chelsea have all won away at Tottenham this season with West Ham drawing. Tottenham did beat Manchester City at home, but before they began their great run.
Manchester United had a good win on Thursday and look set for the Europa League semi-finals. Only one of their last 16 games in all competitions has been lost, the FA Cup exit at Leicester City last month. In the Premier League, only Sheffield United have beaten them in their 24 games but they could start this game 17 points off the top if Mancester City beat Leeds United the day before. United are still unbeaten on their Premier League travels with nine wins and six draws. Each of those six draws have come in their last nine, all helping City to build their big lead. They are nine points above fifth so nearly in the Champions League, a couple more wins should do it. Go for United to get a win or draw from this game.
