Liverpool won the FA Cup on Saturday but their hopes of a quadruple are in big trouble. They are second in the Premier League and travel to Southampton who are 15th in the table. If leaders Manchester City win on Sunday against West Ham, that will take them six points clear of the Reds. That would mean anything less than a win for Liverpool at Southampton will see City win the title. Liverpool can only hope for City to slip up if that happens, even winning their last two league games won't guarantee them the title if City win their last league game. Recent good results for City have seen them go clear of Liverpool not just in points but goal difference too. Liverpool therefore won't just be out to beat Southampton and then Wolves but to score plenty of goals too. Liverpool have earned 21 points more than Southampton in the last ten league games. They have won 12 away league games with 14 of the last 16 won. The reverse fixture saw Liverpool win 4-0 and a result like that would suit them perfectly here.
Southampton are having another disappointing end to the season. They have lost three of their last four league games and in two of those they conceded four goals. The good news for the Saints is that they aren't in relegation trouble. Only five points have been earned from the last 10 league fixtures and have only got three points from the last five at home. That's a big drop in form after a ten game unbeaten league run before their form dipped. 12 goals have been conceded in the last five home Premier League games. Back Liverpool to get the win.
