Sheffield United v Chelsea Betting Tips [11 July 2020]

Few would of thought Sheffield United would be battling it out for a place in Europe at the business end of the season but this game with Chelsea could have huge implications on the race for Europa League and Champions League places. The hosts are 7th with four games to go on 51 points which guarantees a place in the Europa League qualifying rounds while their guests come here in 3rd on 60 points hoping to fend off the threat of Leicester City and Manchester United for a place among Europe’s elite. 

The Blades moved to within a point of Wolves with a 1-0 win over the side currently 6th in the division. John Egan scored an injury time winner as Chris Wilder’s men secured their second victory in three games. After a rocky restart they appear to have found their feet and with wins over Arsenal and Tottenham as well this season they have taken their rightful place in the top-seven for now. At home United have won three straight Premier League matches but they have lost to each of the other three teams currently in the top-four when hosting.  

As for Chelsea and Frank Lampard they are looking to hang on a 3rd place finish and back-to-back wins have put them in a great position to secure Champions League football for next season. Defeat to West Ham is their only loss in nine games across all competitions since their 3-0 drubbing at home to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. They have lost just two of their last 10 league games and emerged victorious in five of their six matches since the season resumed in June. Just two points separate Chelsea and 5th so they need to keep on winning especially considering the impressive form of Manchester United and manager Frank Lampard will be all too aware of what could happen in the last four games. 

The outcome of this game is crucial to both teams' European aspirations which should make for an exciting game. I don’t think Chelsea will come here to get a point, that wouldn’t be in their nature but they are fragile at the back that’s why I’m tipping both teams to score in this match.
