Real Madrid are making a bold bid to regain their La Liga title. The league leaders visit Real Sociedad who are third but seven points behind their opponents. Real Sociedad began the season with a loss at Barcelona but then went 12 league fixtures unbeaten. Last week saw that record go as they lost 1-0 at Espanyol. Their form has dipped a bit in La Liga with only five points from their last four matches. The only win has been at out-of-form Osasuna. Home league form has seen them unbeaten in ten La Liga matches, though three of the last five have ended level. Not many goals though with six in the last seven home La Liga games. Just one home league goal has been conceded this season but now they take on high-scoring Real Madrid.
The league leaders are seven points clear of second placed Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand. 11 of their 15 league fixtures have been won, including the last five. Three of those five victories have come against sides currently in the top eight. Just one of their last 22 away league fixtures has been lost and that was to Espanyol who are good at home but yet to win on their league travels. Madrid are the side in form, back them to get an away win.
