The anticipated return of Neymar will be the boost that Paris Saint-Germain need as they plot a move up the table in the UEFA Champions League Group ‘H’ when they host RB Leipzig. Ahead of this matchday four fixture, PSG are third in the group with three points, while Leipzig are tied at the top with Manchester United – both on six points and only goal difference separating the teams.
PSG were beaten 3-2 in the weekend Ligue 1 match by Monaco making it two losses in their last three matches – winning only one. In the Champions League, PSG started the season with a 2-1 home loss to Manchester United. Although they did get back on track with a 2-0 win away at Istanbul Basaksehir, the 2-1 loss to Leipzig in their latest group game puts pressure in the French champions. After losing to Manchester United in their latest home match in the Champions League, PSG are now looking to avoid losing two home games in a row for the first time in their competition history.
Leipzig drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend in their league game making it a three-game unbeaten run for the visitors in all competitions. They have two wins from three matches in the Champions League this campaign. The 2-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir and the 2-1 win over PSG were sandwiched by a 5-0 shocking loss to Manchester United. Regardless, the visitors have been in good form in the competition away from home. Leipzig have won four of their last six Champions League away matches drawing and losing one each.
Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig are meeting for the third time in the Champions League in just 98 days – with both teams winning a match each. PSG will be desperate for a win and although they have lost four of their last six games against German opponents it is the hosts who will look to force for a result. However, Leipzig are in good form themselves – notwithstanding the 5-0 heavy loss at Manchester United. This could be an entertaining encounter and we are backing this in the goals market.
