Preston will look to stop their slide down the Championship points tally when they host a Fulham side looking to bounce back from their loss during the weekend. The hosts are seventh in the points tally with 31 points, while the visitors are in the promotion play-off places.
Preston have lost 2-0 over the weekend at Queens Park Rangers, which is their fourth loss in a row. This run has hampered Preston’s chances of remaining in the promotion play-off places. All the losses have come ‘to nil’ meaning Preston haven’t scored a Championship goal for nearly a month. It is a tribute to Preston’s early season form that they are still within reach of the top-three places. Even better is the fact that their home form has been scintillating. Not only have Preston won seven of their ten Championship home matches, they have scored 25 goals. That includes scoring at least three goals in six of those ten matches. However, their last home game ended in a 1-0 loss to West Brom and Preston will hope to break that rut.
Fulham are also coming off a loss, having lost 2-1 to Bristol City. Thankfully though, the loss has come after a run of four consecutive wins. The loss notwithstanding, Fulham are well within ear shot of finishing in the top-six. With 32 goals to their name, the ‘Cottagers’ have already scored the third highest number of goals in the division. However, their form away from home has been inconsistent. They have lost only one of their last eight away Championship matches, but three of those have been draws. Encouragingly for the travelling fans, Fulham have won their last two away Championship matches.
Both Preston and Fulham are coming off losses in the weekend, but it is the visitors who are in better form coming into this fixture. Preston have been struggling for points overall, but their home form has been impressive. Fulham, on the other hand, will hope to continue their good recent form against Preston. Either way, there promises to be goals in this encounter and we are backing the same.
