Borussia Monchengladbach are an impressive third in the the German Bundesliga while Leverkusen are two points behind in fifth. The two sides meet for the second time this season and Monchengladbach were the 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture. Monchengladbach resumed their league bid with a 3-1 victory at Eintranch Frankfurt, where Alassane Plea, Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini netted the goals for the victory. This was the third win for Gladbach in four league games and it also became their eighth consecutive unbeaten league match. All of Gladbach's last eight games had goals by both opponents and seven ended with scorelines of over 2.5 goals. At home, Die Fohlen are in good form having won six times in eight league games. Six of the team's last eight matches at Borussia-Park had over 2.5 goals scored and all had goals by both opponents.
Visitors Leverkusen thrashed Werder Bremen 4-1 last week with Kai Havertz netting a brace as Mitchell Weiser and Kerem Demirbay completed the rout. Theodore Gebre Selassie had leveled the scores in the half hour mark after Haevertz had scored two minutes earlier. Havertz returned to push his team forward with another strike in the 33rd minute. This was the fourth consecutive win for Bayern in all competitions and their fifth victory in six league games.
On the road, Bayern are playing fairly well and have won four times in six games across all competitions. Five of the team's last six away games had over 2.5 goals scored and all games ended with goals by both opponents.
This will be an exciting match to watch, and possibly the most exciting of the league weekend given the great strength of the two sides. Expect goals by both opponents and likely goal tally of more that two goals.
