Lille last won Ligue back in 2011 and now 10 years later they have their best chance to reclaim the title. LOSC are currently three points clear at the top of the table after a 1-0 victory at PSG last weekend. They travel to face Metz in their next game with the hosts now winless in four after a 4-0 drubbing at Monaco last time out. Metz are currently 9th in the table with seven games left to play and despite their poor form they are fighting to finish in the top-half for the first time since the 1998/99 season.
Metz may have conceded four against Monaco last weekend but they managed to hold the Principality club for 90 minutes before losing out in the Coupe de France on penalties on Tuesday night. They do however, need to start picking up points if they are to ensure a top-half finish with only Bordeaux (3) and Dijon (0) picking up fewer points than their four over the last five-game weeks. Metz however, have lost three of the last four meetings with Lille and were beaten in the reverse fixture 1-0 back in September.
Lille laid down a marker for the title with a well-deserved 1-0 win over current champions PSG. The visitors opened up a three-point lead at the top of the table and with just seven games to play, time could be on their side. They have accumulated the highest tally of points on the road in the division with 34 from a possible 45 having won 10 of their 15 games and losing just once. Lille boast the best defensive record in the league and away from home, they have conceded an average of just 0.6 goals per game.
