Manchester will look to continue their rise up the table when they welcome relegation-threatened Fulham to the Etihad Stadium. City are 11th with 15 points after their 5-0 victory over Burnley last weekend with the side looking back to their best. However, they take on a Fulham team who earned their first away victory of the season at the King Power Stadium on Monday night. Their 2-1 win over Leicester City gave Scott Parker’s team a much-needed lift and took them to seven points for the season in 17th position.
City were held to a 0-0 draw as they topped their Champions League group but they are yet to win back-to-back Premier League games this term and you feel they start moving quickly or risk falling off the pace set by Tottenham Hotspur. They are unbeaten in three league games at the Etihad though and Fulham haven’t won here 2009. When the sides met here during the 2018/19 season the hosts ran out 3-0 winners, in fact City have won five straight meetings home and away without conceding a goal against Fulham.
The Cottagers come here off the back a huge win over Leicester and it was fully deserved on Monday night as they showed a clinical edge that had been lacking. Fulham missed a penalty in each of their previous three games but Ivan Cavaleiro stepped up to get the job done in their win at the King Power. That was Fulham’s first win on the road this season having picked up just one point from their four games prior. They have however, proved rigid at the back conceding four goals across their last four away matches but away at City is a whole different ball game.
