Lille Osc v Montpellier Hsc Betting Tips [16 April 2021]

Lille have the chance to go six points clear at the top of French Ligue 1. The league leaders host Montpellier who are eighth and still chasing a place in the new Europa Conference League that starts next season. Lille didn't have a good end to March with a run of one point from two games. April has been a lot better though with a win at PSG and then last weekend, a 2-0 victory at Metz. Now they host Montpellier looking for a win before a vital away match at Lyon next week. Lille have been strong in defence in their recent league matches. Montpellier don't have a great record in away games against Lille. They have no win in their last eight, with the last league victory ten years ago. They come into this game six points behind Lens in fifth, the Europa Conference League place. Montpellier dropped points in their most recent match, being held to a 3-3 home draw by Marseille. They took a first minute lead but went 2-1 and 3-2 down needing a 93rd minute equalizer to rescue a point. The draw was the fifth they have had in Ligue 1 in their last six games. They are unbeaten in their last ten league matches. On their travels, Montpellier have drawn four of the last five, winning the other one at Lyon. Only five away league matches have been won this season. Lille are in good form and know just how important this game is. Go for a home victory.
