Lille Osc v Monaco Betting Tips [6 May 2022]

Lille have had a tough season; they will hope the final three matches offer some comfort. The first of those three is a home game against Monaco. Going into the game, Lille are 10th with 51 points and Monaco fourth on 62. Lille have already failed in their title defence and will be hoping to at least finish in the top half; it has been that bad. They head into this game with one win in their last five matches, a 1-0 victory over Strasbourg, which is also their only clean sheet in the last five matches. Right before this game, they suffered a 3-0 loss at Troyes, the third time in four matches that they conceded two or more goals, while they haven’t managed to score more than a goal in those five matches.

Monaco on the other hand, go into this game with an eight-game unbeaten run and have won each of their last seven. They are chasing for the automatic Champions League slot in Ligue 1 and thus have the incentive to go for three points here. In six of the last seven matches, they have scored two or more goals and will be clear favorites heading into this game. The visitors however, have just three clean sheets in the last 10 matches and this will be an area needing massive improvement. In their last match, they beat Angers 2-0 at home, with Wissam Ben Yedder scoring his third goal in four matches and he will be a key man in this. Three of Monaco’s last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and the same has been the case in the last three away matches, which they’ve all won.

Monaco are clearly the favorites here and the fact that they are eyeing second place gives them the impetus to go for three points here. They play away to a Lille side that hasn’t done so well coming into this game and in Monaco’s form, we will back them to win.
