12th place Leicester take on fourth place West Ham in this matchday 25 Premier League clash. The hosts have been having a difficult season after reaching the highs of an FA Cup trophy and a fifth place finish in last year’s campaign and now trail the top four by a massive 14 points. Brendan Rodger’s men are coming off a 2-0 away loss to Liverpool and have now lost three of their last four games including a massive 4-1 drubbing to Championship side Nottingham Forest. Their opponents West Ham have broken back into the top four after a 1-0 victory against Watford. David Moyes has done a terrific job in East London and a Champions League berth would be the cherry on top of a wonderful season. They’ve now won two consecutive matches and hold a slim one point lead over fifth place Arsenal and sixth place Manchester United - although those teams have a game or two in hand over the Hammers.
Leicester come into this match as home underdogs which is somewhat understandable given both teams form this season. However, the Foxes are a dangerous team on their day and have recorded some big wins over top teams at the King Power Stadium this season including a 4-2 win against Man United and a recent 1-0 win against Liverpool. This match could wind up being closer than the odds might suggest as Leicester have a decent 5-2-4 record at home with a much improved goal differential over their away form. West Ham, while having a decent form of three wins in the last five, haven’t been overly impressive in those recent performances. The Hammers needed two last gasp goals to squeak by a non-league Kidderminster side in the FA Cup, barely created any chances in a 1-0 away loss to United and look a bit flat in their latest 1-0 win against Watford.
