Second placed Leicester City host bottom side Watford at the King Power Stadium as the English Premiership advances to its fourteenth round this midweek. Leicester are playing a surprisingly strong game and are currently three points ahead of champions Manchester City, but eight behind leaders Liverpool.
The Foxes extended their winning streak to six league games with a 2-1 victory over Everton last weekend, a win that was secured by goals by Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Brendan Rodgers' men are in great shape at home, where they have only lost once in twelve games across all competitions. In fact, Leicester have won all but one of seven league games at home, one of which ended in a draw. This is in addition to scoring two or more goals in each of their last six league games at the King Power.
Watford, the visitors, are deplorable this season and have only won once, while losing eight times. Watford lost 2-1 at Southampton in their last league game, a match in which Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse struck to upset a lead that had been secured by Ismaila Sarr. On the road, the Hornets are struggling and have only won once in seven league games, during which time they only managed one clean sheet.
Watford are yet to name a new coach after Quique Sanchez was sacked just three months after returning to the team for his second stint. But whoever takes over will be buoyed by the fact that Watford have won as half of their last six games against Leicester.
Leicester go into the match with a home advantage. In addition, the Foxes are playing an all-round superior game and will easily push back the struggling Watford. We expect a victory for the home side.
