Leicester v Burnley Betting Tips [20 September 2020]

Leicester will look to make it two wins to start their Premier League campaign for only the third time in their history, as they welcome a plucky Burnley side to the King Power Stadium. Leicester started their season with a 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, while Burnley are starting their campaign with this fixture.

A goal from new signing Timoty Castagne and a double for Jamie Vardy ensured three full points for Leicester in the first match. Last season saw Leicester and Burnley share the wins, with the home side winning the fixture. Their recent record against Burnley is impressive too with the ‘Foxes’ losing just three of their last 17 matches in all competitions – winning ten and drawing four during the sequence. Leicester have lost their last home league game to Manchester United that killed their chances of finishing in the top-four. However, that remains the only loss in the last five home league matches for Leicester. Crucially, they have kept a clean sheet in each of those four matches.

Burnley packed a punch and finished in 10th position last season with 54 points and just five points below top-six. Whether they can take a step up and make it once again to Europe is a big question. Burnley have defeated Leicester the last time these two sides played, but they haven’t defeated Tottenham in back-to-back league matches since 2006. When it comes to the Premier League, they haven’t done that since 1968 making the task even tougher. However, their recent form gives hope to the visitors. Burnley are unbeaten in their last four Premier League away matches – winning three and drawing one. Interestingly, each of those wins have come with a clean sheet.

Leicester City looked sharp against West Brom in the first match of the season and will hope to continue that.
