Leicester City will look to keep their domestic troubles aside and target a fourth FA Cup quarter-final appearance when they take on Championship side Blackburn Rovers looking to reach that stage for the first time since 2014-15. This FA Cup fifth round match will be played at the King Power Stadium in Leicester on Tuesday. Leicester are 14th in the Premier League with only three points separating them from the relegation zone. The Foxes have lost their last two matches in the league, but both came against Manchester United and Arsenal – the two red-hot teams at the moment which shouldn’t demoralise them too much. The hosts have taken umbrage in the FA Cup winning both the matches in this season by a 1-0 score. In fact, they have progressed from each of their last three FA Cup fifth round ties by the same 1-0 score and may not mind another low-scoring win.
Blackburn are 4th in the Championship standings and are in the play-off race. They also bring rich form to the table having won their last three matches in a row and remaining unbeaten in nine competitive matches in total. That includes winning their previous two FA Cup round ties, although the fourth round needed a replay. Even on their travels, the Rovers have kept their form intact winning two and drawing three of their last five away matches. Yet, Blackburn have lost on their last four trips to Leicester and could face a mammoth task in halting their Premier League opponents on this trip.
