Leicester City are flying under Brendan Rodgers currently third on 23 points and they look good for a top four spot this season as they welcome Champions League hopefuls Arsenal to the King Power Stadium this Saturday night. The Gunners are six points off the qualification places in fifth on 17 points.
The Foxes have won five of their last six Premier League matches including a record-breaking 9-0 win away at Southampton. They followed this up with another away win at Crystal Palace 2-0 last weekend and they remain unbeaten at home this season with four successive victories.
As for the Gunners and Unai Emery it has been a rocky couple of weeks with two consecutive draws at home versus Crystal Palace, which saw Granit Xhaka stripped of his captaincy, and Wolves last weekend. Arsenal have just one win in their last six matches and that was at home to Vitoria Guimaraes but they drew the return fixture on Wednesday 1-1. The pressure is really starting to mount on Emery as he fights to retain his managerial status and the North London club have gone over a month without a win in the league last reigning supreme in a 1-0 win over Bournemouth on the 6th October.
Leicester haven’t dropped a point at the King Power since the opening weekend of the season and interestingly Arsenal haven’t won away from home in the Premier League since the same date, that a 1-0 win over Newcastle.
The top-scorer in the Premier League Jamie Vardy couldn’t be happier with his next opponent. The Englishman has scored eight times in eight starts against the Gunners including three braces and he will be looking to add to his ten-goal haul on Saturday evening. Only Didier Drogba has scored two or more goals in as many different Premier League matches against Arsenal.
Arsenal rested most of their key players on Wednesday but they aren’t in great form and Leicester have been exceptional all season. I expect Leicester to remain unbeaten at home and win this game.
