Lecce v Parma Betting Tips [2 August 2020]

Lecce have taken the relegation race to the final day after a turnaround 2-1 win over Udinese in midweek seen them move onto 35 points just one point behind Genoa who were thumped 5-0 by Sassuolo. Parma meanwhile, are 11th with one game to go and could finish as high as 9th depending on other results. The visitors were beaten 2-1 in midweek by Atalanta but nonetheless they will still better their 14th place finish with 41 points last season regardless of what happens on the final day.  

The hosts come into this game having won two of their last three games leaving them with an outside chance of survival. Lecce’s goal differential is three worse than Genoa so for the Giallorossi to survive they would more than likely need to take all three points. At the Stadio Via del Mare they have also taken six of the last nine points available with wins over Brescia and high-flying Lazio so will be confident of avoiding an immediate return to Serie B.  

As for the Gli Emiliani they are rooted firmly in mid-table and have injury worries coming into this game. Each of Parma’s 12 games since the restart have seen both teams score and they have lost seven of those games including a 2-1 loss to Atalanta last time out. Each of Parma’s last 11 games have seen at least three goals scored and five of those matches have witnessed four or more goals. Away from home Parma have won just two of their six games on the road but did beat relegated Brescia in their last match on the road. 

This game guarantees goals, just look at the numbers. 13 of Lecce’s 18 home league games have seen over 2.5 goals and 12 of Parma’s 18 away matches have also seen at least three goals go in. Parma have been involved in some thrilling games recently despite having little to play for and I think they will bring it to Lecce. Lecce will have to attack this game like they usually do and although I do feel they can get the win as they are playing with an incentive I’m going to hold back on that bet and instead tip both teams to score and over 2.5 goals combined in the match.
