Lazio v Inter Milan Betting Tips [16 February 2020]

For long periods the Serie A title looked a two-horse race between Inter Milan and Juventus but the two have stuttered since Christmas and the consistent form of Lazio has blown the race wide open. The Biancocelesti are on an 18-game unbeaten run in Serie A that started way back in September after a 1-0 defeat to none other than Inter Milan. Simone Inzaghi’s side have steamrolled their way up the standings and are now just one point behind Inter and Juve who have 54 points with Inter leading the way on goal difference. 

Lazio could leapfrog their guests with a win and that would really make a statement as they go in search of their first Scudetto for 20 years. The red-hot form of Ciro Immobile who leads the race for the European golden shoe with 25 goals has been the catalyst in their relentless run and he will be hoping it continues against Inter. Lazio have won eight of their last nine games at home and have lost just one of 16 matches at the Stadio Olimpico this season in all competitions. That was against Celtic and when coming up against Italian opposition their record this season stands at ten wins and three draws in both the league and cup competition. Lazio have amassed 30 points from 36 when playing at home in Serie A and only Juventus have picked up more with 31.  

Inter though are the best side in the league on the road. Antonio Conte’s charges have accumulated 29 points out of 33 available with nine wins and two draws from 11 matches, they are yet to taste defeat. Inter came from behind to win the Milan Derby 4-2 just last weekend but perhaps those celebrations were dampened by a 1-0 1st leg defeat to Napoli in the Coppa Italia in midweek. Nonetheless Inter remain unbeaten on the road in six since a Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund although they have drawn two of their last four away games against two of the bottom seven sides in Serie A in Fiorentina and Lecce.  

Two teams battling it out for the Serie A title will meet at the Olimpico and this promises to be a real cracker. Lazio are 18 games unbeaten in Serie A while Inter are currently on a 16-game undefeated streak making it hard to call a winner here. This game does yell goals though with 8 of Lazio’s 12 home games featuring over 2.5 goals this campaign therefore I’m going to tip over 2.5 goals in this match.
