The Tokyo Olympics were a disappointment for Felix Auger-Aliassime as he lost in the first round to Max Purcell. Now he's in Washington preparing for the US Open and takes on Jenson Brooksby in the second round of the Citi Open. The Canadian is up to a career best 15th in the live rankings but he had a tough first round match. He was up against Andreas Seppi (who beat him in the French Open) and had to come from a set down to win that match. He reached the last eight at Wimbledon and will be hoping to match or better that at the final Grand Slam of the year.
He take on Jenson Brooksby who has been climbing the rankings in recent weeks. The 20-year-old (only a year older than his opponent) reached the final of the Hall of Fame Open tournament losing to Kevin Anderson. Revenge was achieved in the first round of this tournament as he defeated the South African. Brookby began this year just outside the top 300 but began this week in 130th place and in the live rankings is up to 123rd after beating Anderson and then 16th seed Frances Tiafoe in round two. This is tougher though and Aliassime can get the win. Brooksby is one to watch in the coming weeks and months though.
