Inter Milan and Real Madrid face each other in the Champions League for the second season in a row. The Serie A champions will be hoping to make it through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time since the 2011/12 season. They did reach the final of the Europa League two seasons ago. Inter lost both of their matches to Real Madrid last season. They lost 3-2 away and were then beaten 2-0 at home by the La Liga side. Inter went on to win the Serie A title and will hope for a much longer run in the Champions League this season. They are fourth in Serie A at present, with seven points from their three games. Nine goals have been scored in those matches, so they aren't missing Romelu Lukaku too much. It should have been three straight wins as they twice led at Sampdoria at the weekend but only drew 2-2. Only one of their last eight Champions League home games have been won with both teams scoring in nine of the last 12.
Real Madrid have made a strong start to the new La Liga season. They top the table with ten points from four games and have scored 13 goals. Benzema and Vinicius Jr have both scored four goals in those games. Gareth Bale has also been on the scoresheet so Real are looking a major force this season as they try to regain their Spanish and European titles. Only one of their last seven Champions League games have been lost. That was the 2-0 away loss to eventual champions Chelsea last season. Away form has only produced two wins in the last seven Champions League matches. A bet on both teams to score is the tip for this match.
