Inter can go to the top of Serie A if beating 14th placed Empoli at home on Friday. The second placed side start the game two points behind Milan with three games remaining. They have a busy week ahead of them with the Italian Cup final against Juventus being played on the 11th. Inter have won five of their last six league games but a loss at Bologna did hurt their chances of retaining their Serie A title. Home form has seen them unbeaten in the last four league games with five goals scored, all from different players. They won the reverse fixture against Empoli 2-0 last October.
Empoli have little to play for with no hope of European qualification or any relegation fears. Even finishing 13th isn't going to be easy with a six point gap between them and Bologna. Empoli have had a dreadful second half of the season. Their only win in the last 18 league games has been a home victory over Napoli. On their travels, Empoli have gone nine Serie A fixtures without a win with three successive losses. Scoring has been a nightmare on the road with just one goal scored in the last six away league games and that was a penalty. They haven't scored a goal from open play in the league since January 16. A form guide for the last 15 league matches has them one-from-bottom with just nine points. Back Inter to win this and lead at both half and full time.
