Inter Milan remain 3rd in Serie A, eight points off top-spot but although their title chances are bleak, they still have a lot to play for. Antonio Conte’s men welcome strugglers Brescia (19th) to the San Siro with relegation now looking like a reality for last year’s Serie B winners.
The home side come into this game fresh off a 2-1 victory over Parma on Sunday. Two late goals completed the turnaround for Inter and they will be looking to assert their position as Champions League qualifiers and perhaps take advantage of any dropped points Juventus may leave behind. Inter have taken seven points from a possible nine since the restart but still find themselves eight points off the pace. Conte’s men will be confident of another victory here as they face a Brescia side who they haven’t lost to since 2004. Only Juventus have come to the San Siro this term and taken all three points with Inter winning eight of the 14 games they have hosted.
Brescia look set for an immediate return to Serie B as they lie perilously in the bottom three, eight points from safety. A huge win looked assured over Genoa last time out but Le Rondinelle threw away a 2-0 lead and were made settle for a point. The visitors are now without a league win in 13 matches since the 14th of December and their fate looks sealed with future trips to Atalanta and Lazio in waiting.
Brescia’s stay in the top-flight looks like it will be short-lived and I’m expecting another defeat here. Inter should make light work of their guests and I’m tipping Inter to win both halves of this match. This is not a half-time/full-time bet which may be a more familiar bet for some.
