A 34th straight win will take top seed Iga Swiatek into her second French Open final. Swiatek takes on the 20th seed Daria Kasatkina for a place in the final against either Coco Gauff or Martina Trevisan. The Pole tops the world rankings but it's the WTA Race that shows her dominance of the circuit this year. The quarter final win over 11th seed Jessica Pegula took her to 6070 ranking points for the year and that's more than the next three players on the list put together. Swiatek dropped a set in the last 16 but has won four sets in a row since then. She's had four previous matches against Kasatkina and three of them have taken place this year, though none have been on clay. The three wins for Swiatek were all in straight sets with Kasatkina only winning 11 games.
The only time Kastakina has beaten Swiatek was last year in Eastbourne, England. That was on grass though and Swiatek has yet to prove her dominance on that surface. Kasatkina has had a good year and is sixth in the WTA Race, but with less than a third of the ranking points that Swiatek has. No sets have been dropped so far at Roland Garros by Kasatkina. Two seeds have been beaten, namely Camila Giorgi (28th) and Veronika Kudermetova (29th). This is her second successive semi-final after getting to this stage in Rome last month. Swiatek may have a few problems early on against Kasatkina but the tip is for her to win this in straight sets.
