Manchester United travel to Granada for the first leg of this Europa League quarter final. The Premier League side are in good form at present, something that can't be written about their La Liga opponents. Granada are in their first Europa League campaign and have done well to reach this stage of the competition. They come into this game however, having lost their last three games and conceding seven goals. If they want European football next season, it's looking as if they will need to win the Europa League. At present, they are ninth in La Liga and ten points behind the final European qualification spot. Their most recent game saw them lose 3-0 at home to Villarreal and that followed defeats by Molde and Valencia. Home form has helped Granada make it to the quarter finals. They have five of their seven games and only PSV have been able to beat them. Their away record is a lot different though and after four early wins, they have a draw and two defeats from their last three. If they are to reach the semi-finals, they need to build a good lead in this first leg. Their last seven at home has produced four wins but also three losses. Ten goals have been conceded in those three losses.
Manchester United will be confident of progressing to the last four. This is their last hope of lifting a trophy this season. They have little chance of winning the Premier League and were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester City. That FA Cup loss is their only defeat in their last 16 league and cup games and that includes winning at Liverpool, Manchester City and Milan. They began this season in the Champions League and finished third behind PSG (who they beat away from home) and RB Leipzig. Transferred into the Europa League, United have knocked out Real Sociedad (higher in the La Liga table than Granada) and Milan, conceding just once in four games. They can be backed to get a win in this first leg.
