It's not been an easy start to the new season for Celtic. They are already out of the Champions League and have now been transferred to the Europa League where they face Jablonec. This is a third qualifying round match with the winners up against AZ from the Netherlands in the play-off round. Celtic lost in extra time to Midtjylland in the Champions League and then followed that with a 2-1 defeat at Hearts as the new Scottish Premiership season began. Celtic conceded a late goal in that match as their poor run continues. They have a new manager and badly need to make some new signings before the transfer window closes. Celtic also lost early on in the Champions League last season but did then make it to the group stages of this competition. That didn't go well though as they finished bottom and conceded 19 goals.
Jablonec have only once reached the Europa League group stages. That was in 2018/19 when they finished bottom of the group that also included Rennes, Astana and Dynamo Kiev. Jablonec finished third in the Czech League. Their new domestic season has just started and after two games they are ninth with three points. The weekend saw them lose 3-0 to Mlada Boleslav. They have no wins in their last seven Europa League home games with just one win in the last 11 played in this competition. Celtic could have had some tougher draws and can get a confidence boosting away win here.
