Fc Zurich host Hearts in the first leg of this Europa League play-off round tie. The Swiss side began the season in the Champions League but lost 5-4 on aggregate to Qarabag. That saw them transferred into the Europa League and they had a comfortable 5-0 third qualifying round win over Irish side Linfield. They have made a terrible start to the Swiss Super League and lie bottom of the table on two points after five games. Just one goal has been scored (after failing to score in their first four matches) and 10 conceded. Zurich reached the last 32 of this competition last season and will hope to at least make the group stages this term. Home form has seen only two of the last nine games played in European competition being lost. Five of the last seven have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
Hearts finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season to qualify for the Europa League. They occupy the same position this season after two wins and a draw, trailing the top two by a couple of points. The weekend saw them get a convincing 4-1 home win over Dundee United and they'll want to bring that form into this Europa League tie. The Scottish club are playing in European competition for the first time since the 2016/17 season when losing in the second qualifying round of this competition. Not since 2004/05 have they made it to the group stages, when this was called the UEFA Cup. They look to be in better form than their opponents at present but their away form wasn't that impressive last season. They have scored in their last eight away Scottish Premiership fixtures but only kept one clean sheet. Go for both teams to score in this match.
