Swiss side Luzern and their Dutch counterparts Feyenoord aren’t having very stable runs, and when they face off in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League, starting a good run will be the target. Luzern are coming from two winless outings in the Swiss domestic league; a loss to Young Boys and a draw with St. Gallen. In the two matches alone, they have conceded seven goals. Defence will be a major area of concern for the hosts, having shipped 10 goals in five matches, but they should be happy with an attack that has produced 12 goals in the five matches. They have scored two or more goals in each of their last five matches and in three of these, both teams have scored. Luzern do not have a very strong run at home, having managed one win only in the last five, and lost three. They have one clean sheet in their last five home matches, and conceded two or more in four, with both teams scoring in four.
Just like Luzern, Feyenoord are also coming to this game on the back of two wins in their last five outings. They survived a scare at home before seeing off Kosovo side Drita in the last round with a 3-2 win. It took Guus Til’s 90th minute goal to secure Feyenoord’s place here, his hat trick ensuring the Dutch side came from 2-1 down to win. That was just one of the two matches they conceded twice in; the team has just one clean sheet in five matches and failed to score in the same game. In the remaining four, both teams have scored and three of them have ended in over 2.5 goals. The Dutch side doesn’t have a very good away run; in the last four on the road, it has no win, and actually failed to score in the last two, while it has just one clean sheet in five.
These two sides can’t parade their defences as their strongest departments. They have few clean sheets, though they have done well in attack. Both teams scoring has been a regular occurrence, and most of their games have produced over 2.5 goals. Go for both teams to score here.
