Sevilla will look to continue their pursuit of top-spot in Group ‘E’ as they take on Krasnodar in match #4 of the UEFA Champions League campaign. Sevilla are tied at the top with Chelsea on seven points with only goal difference separating them. Krasnodar are third in the standings with just one point to their credit.
Krasnodar come into this match with a 1-0 in the domestic league game that ended a five-match losing competitive streak. Even in the Champions League, Krasnodar found the going tough after starting with a 1-1 draw against Rennes. The Russian outfit went on to lose their next two Champions League matches conceding at least three goals each time. However, they did manage to run Sevilla close in the last game, eventually losing 3-2. When it comes to home games in the competition, Krasnodar have lost three of the four – including the 4-0 loss to Chelsea.
Sevilla won 4-2 over the weekend in La Liga making it three straight competitive wins in a row. In the Champions League too, the Spanish outfit has won two on a row – a 1-0 win over Rennes coupled with a 3-2 win over Krasnodar. In fact, that win has come after going two goals down and having a man sent off. This run has meant Sevilla have lost only one of their last ten matches in the competition – winning four and drawing five in the sequence. Playing away from home, Sevilla have remained unbeaten in their last four Champions League matches although winning only once.
Sevilla had to come back from two goals down and overcome the handicap of being one man short to defeat Krasnodar 3-2 in the reverse fixture. This time around, they should have it a bit easier, though, as they travel to Krasnodar to stay in touch with league leaders Chelsea. We are backing goals in this encounter at both ends.
