FC Copenhagen v Celtic Betting Tips [20 February 2020]

The current Scottish champions Celtic will make the trip to the Danish capital to take on the Superliga winners Copenhagen for the first leg of their Round of 32 tie after topping Group E which contained the impressive Lazio who are currently second in Serie A. The visitors won four straight matches in their group but did lose their final game which was at Cluj. Celtic come into this match on an eight-game winning streak and they have won 12 of their 13 matches since their last European game in Cluj. The Hoops have also won each of their last nine games on the road since that defeat and have scored two or more goals in each of those games. Celtic currently lead the SPL by 10 points and have an incredible record on the road accumulating 37 points from a possible 42 during away games. However, when Celtic last came to this venue they were beaten 3-1 in a Champions League group game back in 2006.  

As for the hosts they are currently second in the Danish league and they remain unbeaten when hosting games in that division with nine wins from 10 matches. In Europe they did taste defeat when Scandanavian rivals Malmo came here and left with a win. The Danish giants have also lost each of their last three matches and are undergoing a mini-rut coming into this match. The hosts do tend to score in front of their own fans and they have done so in nine of their last 11 matches at home so this should make for an entertaining encounter. 

Celtic have been fantastic this season and they have brought their domestic form into Europe which is something they haven’t managed for a few years now. They made a real statement when they won in Rome against Lazio and they will fancy their chances here. Copenhagen do defend well at home so I’m not sure whether or not Celtic can do enough to win this game but I definitely see them scoring and I’m going to tip both teams to score here also given Copenhagen’s impressive home record.
