Estoril host Benfica in Match week ten of the Portuguese Primeira Liga at the Antonio Coimbra da Mota. The hosts are currently placed at fourth in the league with eighteen points from nine games while the visitors are at the top of the league standings with twenty-four points from their nine fixtures so far. Estoril come into the game with a comfortable 2-0 win over Portimonense on the road. This extends their unbeaten run to four games in the current season. Bruno Baltazar’s side, however, have a few concerns to deal with if they want to keep up with the title race till the end of the season. Estoril Praia have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight fixtures and have had over 2.5 goals in six out of their last eight matches. They look shaky on occasions and have to rely on their strikers to score more goals than they concede in many games.
Benfica have lost just once so far in the Primeira Liga. They come into the game with an exciting 3-3 draw with Vitoria in the Taca da Liga. The visitors registered a slender 1-0 win over Vizela in their last Primeira Liga fixture. Jorge Jesus’ side do not concede a lot of goals but are not that great at securing clean sheets as well. They have managed to keep just three clean sheets in their last eight fixtures. In pursuit of scoring as many goals as possible, they do keep gaps at the back which was exploited by a quality Bayern Munich side in the Champions League. Benfica also have had over 2.5 goals in six out of their last eight matches. It is also to be noted that the two teams have had over 2.5 goals in seven out of their last eight meetings between each other.
Estoril and Benfica are on a good run of form in the early days of the season. Both the teams like to score a lot of goals and are not afraid of leaving gaps at the back. The game is expected to get a decent number of goals. We are going for over 2.5 goals in this fixture.
