Estonia host Malta for the Nations League D at A. Le Coq Arena. With lowly San Marino effectively out of the running, it is winner takes all in this encounter for promotion to League C. Estonia have been good in recent games. They have won two and drawn one off their last four, keeping two clean sheets in the process. While they are not the strongest of sides, they are improving at home, being unbeaten in three of their last four there. On the downside, their recent games are surely unsuitable for entertainment purposes. All five of their most recent games on home turf failed to see both teams score and ended with Under 2.5 goals.
Malta have also picked up form recently. Currently sat at no. 168 of the FIFA ranking, they have claimed four victories from their last six games, albeit two of them being against San Marino. What is impressive is that they have kept clean sheets in all of those wins, something the Maltese outfit had not done since 2021. On the downside, they have been disappointing away from home, wining just two of their last twenty-three on the road. In addition, Malta boast a poor tradition against the Estonians, whom they have only beaten once in their previous six meetings.
