There are two sets of fixtures left in the 2022 Six Nations tournament. Ireland are second in the table, three points behind leaders France. Their penultimate game is away to England, who are third and only a point adrift of them. Ireland began this season's Six Nations with a comfortable home win over Wales. Their unbeaten run ended with a 30-24 defeat in Paris, before a straightforward home victory over Italy. After this game at Twickenham, they end with a home match against Scotland. Ireland beat England in Dublin in the 2021 Six Nations Championship but that ended a run of four straight losses to the English. Only twice in the last 12 years have they beaten England at Twickenham, the last time being in 2018. This is a strong side though and a better performance at Twickenham is likely this weekend, especially with Johnny Sexton back in the starting line-up.
England began their Six Nations campaign with a defeat in Scotland. Since then, they have had wins in Italy and at home to Wales. They now have Ireland at home and a final day trip to France, knowing two wins can win them the title. A tough task indeed though, especially winning in Paris. England haven't been firing on all cylinders so far in this Six Nations tournament. They will need to improve if a win over the Irish side is to be achieved. A close match looks likely but Ireland can edge it.
