Eintracht Frankfurt host Tottenham in the first of two back-to-back games in Group D of the Champions League. The German side are in third place in the group and only behind Tottenham on goal difference. Frankfurt won the Europa League last season to qualify for the top competition in European football. They began this group with a disappointing 3-0 home loss to Sporting, who now top the group with six points. Frankfurt bounced back well with a 1-0 win in Marseille and two decent results against Tottenham could see them into the knockout stages. Not doing so may well see them in with a chance of defending their Europa League title later in the season. They have made a good start in the 2022/23 German Bundesliga. The weekend saw them beat leaders Union Berlin and they are sixth in the table. That was a welcome home win and only their second in their last six home fixtures in all competitions.
Tottenham are in second place but need to get back into winning ways. The weekend didn't go well, losing 3-1 at Arsenal, leaving them third in the Premier League. Their Champions League campaign began with a 2-0 home win over Marseille. It looked as if Tottenham were going to earn a point at Sporting in their second game but conceded two last-gasp goals. Away form is a bit of a worry with only a win at Nottingham Forest in their last five games on the road. They do regularly score on their travels, only failing to do so twice in their last 11 league and cup games. A bet on both teams to score is the suggested wager here.
