Crystal Palace are 12th in the Premier League but don't have a great deal to play for. Their opponents do as fifth placed Chelsea continue their bid for a top four finish. The home side have only lost one of their last six league games but only won two of those games One was at rivals Brighton, the other a home win over West Brom, something Chelsea can't boast. Three of their last six league matches have been drawn. The latest being at Everton, where a late goal got them a 1-1 draw. Home form is as inconsistent as you can get with five wins, five draws and five defeats. Only 15 home league goals have been scored with a total of 36 goals in 15 league games. However, 20 of those came in four games, including a 7-0 loss to Liverpool.
Chelsea bounced back to winning ways on Wednesday with a 2-0 win against Porto. That was needed after the shock home loss to West Brom last weekend. They begin this set of games a single point behind fourth place. They could be joined on 51 points by Liverpool if they beat Aston Villa earlier in the day. A draw here will take them into the top four again but they'll want more than that. The loss to West Brom was totally unexpected, especially the margin of defeat. Chelsea have kept eight clean sheets in their last nine games and that includes fiveĀ against Manchester United, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Porto. The Londoners have only conceded two goals in their last eight away games in all competitions and one of those was an own goal. They have seven away league victories this season with no losses in the last five. Back them to get an important away win at Selhurst Park.
