Croatia v Hungary Betting Tips [10 October 2019]

Just one-point separates three teams – and Wales could make it four by winning its ‘game in hand’, Group ‘E’ of the European Championship Qualifier is set to witness an interesting battle between Croatia (first, ten points) and Hungary (third, nine points).

The Croats are coming off a 1-1 draw – albeit a surprise one, at the hands of Azerbaijan. That makes it just one loss in their last seven Euro qualifiers – incidentally coming at the hands of Hungary. Three of the four results in Croatia’s Euro qualifiers this campaign have come via a single-goal margin. However, they have a huge advantage of playing in front of their home fans. The Croats are yet to lose a home match in the Euro qualifiers, having won six of their last seven (W6, D1). However, Croatia have kept just one Euro qualifier clean sheet at home in five matches including two this season that ended with a 2-1 score.

Hungary have lost 2-1 to Slovakia which put a spanner in their hopes of qualifying from the group. The visitors now have won three of their last four qualifiers (W3, L1), with three games witnessing goals at both ends. When playing away from home, Hungary have defeated Azerbaijan 3-1 in their previous road trip, Indeed, they have been impressive away from home, losing just two of their previous ten Euro qualifiers (W6, D2, L2).

The group is proving to be a humdinger, with four sides separated by not much. Both Croatia and Hungary need a win, but more importantly they can’t lose this match. Croatia’s excellent home record and the visitors’ poor recent form should see full points for the hosts.
