It's still early days in the Premier League but Chelsea have the chance to go six points clear of fifth placed Manchester City. Chelsea top the table and host the defending champions who are in fifth place. The Londoners won't want to lose the current three point advantage they have over City. Five league games this season have produced four wins and a draw at Anfield. They just look so strong in all areas of the pitch. It's not just the attack that has been bolstered by an already in-form Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea (like their opponents) have only conceded one league goal this season and that was a Mo Salah penalty. That led to them being reduced to ten men but they still didn't concede another goal. Nine of their last 12 home Premier League games has seen them keep a clean sheet.
Manchester City have ten points from their first five Premier League games. They have three wins but lost at Tottenham (where Chelsea won 3-0 last weekend) and a disappointing goalless draw at home to Southampton. They haven't conceded in the Premier League since that loss to Tottenham in their opening fixture of the season. Three of their last five away league games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, the most recent a 1-0 win at Leicester City. It seems with City that they either win by a large margin or end up in a low-scoring game. It's the latter that we expect this weekend. Go for under 2.5 goals in this match and if backing a winner, slight preference is for the home side.
