Bristol City v Birmingham Betting Tips [5 December 2020]

With the top two teams in the Championship both losing during the week only four points separate the top ten teams with Bristol City firmly amongst that group. The Robins are currently 5th with 27 points after a 2-1 win away at QPR on Tuesday night while the travelling Birmingham find themselves 18th with just 16 points from a possible 45 at this stage in the season.  

Bristol City haven’t been in the top tier of English football since 1980 but manager Dean Holden is dreaming of leading them back. Their victory over QRP on in midweek ended a two-game mini-winless streak but perhaps their home form is skewed a bit by the fact that they have won all three games against sides currently in the bottom four of the league whilst picking up just one point when hosting Middlesbrough, Norwich Swansea and Watford.  

Luckily enough, for Bristol City, Birmingham are labouring at the wrong end of the table and without a win in six games. In fact, the Blues have won just two of their last 14 games since an opening day win over Brentford. On the road they are unbeaten in four but have managed just one victory in that time. Their defeat at Deepdale over Preston does however remain their only win away from home since February but they have won on each of their last two visits to Ashton Gate. Birmingham’s defence has been quite solid but it’s their ability to score goals that is lacking with the Midland’s club scoring just 11 times in their first 15 games.
